Brown Owls is our very own crafty brownie pack. At every meeting we will be crafting it up big time. Our schedule is being finalised - but the first 2 dates on the Brown Owls meeting schedule will be stitching nights a la Meet me at Mikes.
Following that we will be doing all sorts of things - with plenty of advice and instructions. Think knitting, crochet, craft book sharing, fabric swap, crafting for a cause (like Mirabel), applique, softie making & so much more.
Each Brownie meeting will run from 7:30-10:30pm on a Monday evening. Please refer to our calendar for confirmed dates for 2008. No matter what your status—sixer, seconder, tweenie or faraway—you are all MEMBERS! And you are all welcome! You will need to book in for every event you would like to attend
Bookings
First preference will be given to Sixers & Seconders. Tweenie vacancies will become available 2 weeks prior to the scheduled meeting date & should be purchased from the online shop.
Special Events
Will be run periodically throughout the year. Sew along with Ms Uber-Blogger, Brownie Picnics, Brownie bowling, Brown Owls Op Shop & Brownie Camp are just some of the things we have planned. Costs for special events are not included in your membership & will need to be booked & paid for separately.
Brownie Points
Brownie Points will be awarded for attendance (one per meeting attended), as prizes on the night & awarded for random niceness.
Swap Shop
Our swap shop deals in Brownie Points & cash. Items from our shop will also be available for purchase at Brownie meetings so bring your pocket money.
Friendship Wall
All regular attendees should bring their own mug to leave at Brown Owls. You will also have the chance to make a name badge at your first meeting which will hang with your mug on our Friendship Wall.
Cancellation Policy
Sixers & Seconders: Cancellation notice must be received at least 15 days prior to scheduled meeting date to enable exit from your booking.
Tweenies: Credit will only be granted if we are able to fill your place via a sale from the online shop.
Brown Owl is very reasonable and will take each case as it comes.
Venue, Facilities & Equipment
Brown Owls clubhouse is located at 8-10 Simpson Place, Hawthorn. You’ll need to check your Melways as Simpson Place is a one way street & it takes a little bit of navigation. We think this adds to the charm! Parking for evening meets is available for a limited number of cars only. Additional parking is available in Mason Street & you just walk across the park. It is an easy walk from Church Street (tram) & from Hawthorn Station (train).
You don’t need to bring a thing (except your mug). All materials required for each meeting are included in your membership or casual booking fee.
Light refreshments will also be provided.
